I'll try again, but for now I'm disappointed....at least somewhat through my own fault. So at least you can learn from my mistakes. First, I sprayed the cups with an oil spray, which was a mistake: the oil browned, so the bottom and sides of the muffins got crispy. Second, I didn't change the time and temperature from my basic recipe, so the bottoms got more than crispy; they actually burned, and I had to cut them off, thereby losing the heart motif. Third -- most important -- I failed to recognize that the BOTTOM of the cup would become the TOP of the muffin (duh), so I filled them too full. To get the heart shapes on top, you'd have to fill the cups about half way -- or cut off any muffin tops after baking so that they would sit flat. So maybe my rating is too low for the significant operator error (i.e., my mistakes) involved. There was a recipe for banana nut muffins included, but no general tips for adjusting one's other recipes and baking habits from metal to silicone.
