Having recently become obsessed with making perfectly round cookies, candies, etc. (my hubs frequently entreats me to seek counseling) I used this silicone pan over the just passed Christmas holiday to make beautiful pralines (finding a fool proof recipe encouraged me to make many batches) that were a perfect two or three bite size. Pralines are so rich, it's a waste to make them large. For the first use I very lightly brushed softened butter over the cavities and the pralines popped out beautifully once they firmed up. As this only has 8 cavities, I used several other silicone pans with similiar sized cavities, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Though the pans are washable in the dishwasher, I find it's just about as easy to run a sink of hot soapy water and wash them by hand. I put them in the oven on low to dry for a few minutes, and they're ready for the next cooking/baking adventure.I know there were a couple of reviews in which people were critical of the size, based on the name of the pan - donut - but don't let a description stop you from using your imagination to make anything you can think of in these.Next up may be brownie bites, cookie bites, etc. The options are just limitless.

OK. This is, evidently, my fault for shopping on my phone. I did a search for "silicone donut pan" and read all the reviews. This came up in the search, had no reviews, but seemed to be a decent price, with 8 wells instead of the 6 that the other comparable silicone doughnut pan had. I don't recall seeing anything about "krapfen" which is really the operative word here.Evidently a "krapfen" is a filled doughnut: not the kind with the hole in the center, the "Ich Bin Ein Berliner!" kind. If I had been browsing on my computer, this would have been more obvious- there's a raised bump in the center of each well, but it isn't extreme enough to make the traditional ring-shaped donuts I wanted to make. So if you want to make a nice puck-shaped jelly-filled, this is for you. If you're me though, back to amazon it goes.If you're absolutely thrilled to be able to make krapfen by the dozen (or 8...would that be a "load of krapfen?") I will tell you that I have other silicone bakeware, and this is a lot more flexible than anything else I have. You would absolutely need a stabilizing cookie sheet or similar underneath, if you want to keep your krapfen from getting all over the kitchen floor.
